Update Plus: frequently asked questions
1. What is Update Plus?
Update Plus is C+D’s premium CPD package that gives you access to exclusive online learning and educational content, including 50 clinical and practice modules each year to choose from.
Each module comes with an MCQ test to assess your learning. If you successfully pass this, you get a CPD log sheet to which you can add further information.

• Resource zone
• Links to apps for your mobile, key references, useful websites and interactive revision guides
2. How much is Update Plus?
Update Plus costs £52 + VAT (£62.40)
3. Is Update Plus only for pharmacists?
No. Update Plus is suitable for both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to support them with their continuing professional development (CPD).
5. I received an error message when trying to buy online ... what should I do?
Receiving an error message is a rare occurrence. If this does happen, please phone C+D on 020 7921 8420 . Please do not attempt to pay again online as this can lead to multiple purchases.
6. Can I buy Update Plus for more than one person?
You can buy Update Plus for more than one person online. However, each purchase will need to be a separate transaction. If you would like to purchase for several people, please phone C+D on 020 7921 8420 and we can process your order manually.
7. How long does my subscription to Update Plus last for?
Your subscription to Update Plus lasts for 12 months. If you would like to check when your subscription expires, you can find this in your ‘My CPD’.
8. How do I use Update Plus?
• Log into the C+D website www.chemistanddruggist.co.uk
• Read the Update module you are interested in
• Once you have read the module, you can complete the five minute test in ‘My CPD’
• If you successfully pass the test, you can download a certificate and a CPD log sheet
• The pass mark for each test is 8 out of 10
• You have two attempts to pass each module.

9. What should I do if I forget my password for the C+D website?
If you have forgotten your password, click on the ‘Forgotten your password’ link of the home page of the website. Enter your email address and click ‘Continue’. You will be sent an email with a link and instructions to reset your password.
10. What should I do if I change my email address?
If you change your email address or need to amend it for whatever reason, you will not be able to do this yourself on the C+D website. If you need to amend or change your email address, please contact C+D Training on [email protected] or 020 7921 8425 . It is important that you take care to type in your email address correctly when you register on the C+D website and create your account.
11. Where can I read the Update modules online?
You can read all of the modules online by visiting the Update or Update Plus pages. If you're visiting the Update Plus page, you will need to select the 'log in' button at the bottom of the page in order to access the modules.
12. How do I access older Update modules and how far back do they go?
You can see all the Update modules from January 2012 on the website. Older Update modules are not listed as some of the content may be out of date.
13. Where do I do the 5 minute test?

• Scroll down to find Update and click on ‘View exams’
• Choose the module number that corresponds with the Update module you have read
You will be given 10 questions to answer. You should click on the appropriate answer for each question. When you have answered all the questions, click ‘Submit’. You will not be able to click ‘Submit’ if you have not answered all the questions. The pass mark is 8 out of 10.

• Scroll down to find Update and click on ‘View exams’

14. Can I get feedback on which questions I answered incorrectly?
Unfortunately we are unable to give individual feedback on the 5 minute tests.
15. How do I print my certificate?
Once you have successfully passed an exam for an Update module, you can print a certificate to show that you have completed this module.
• Go to ‘My CPD’
• Scroll down to find Update and click on ‘View exams’
• Choose the module number that corresponds with the Update module you have passed
• Click ‘Print certificate’
You can also email the certificate to yourself so you can save it on your computer

16. What is a CPD log sheet?
The CPD log sheet is a form designed to assist you when you make your CPD entry at www.uptodate.org.uk This form has information that may be useful when you make your CPD entry. However, you must make your entry personal to you and your own professional development.
17. How do I access my CPD log sheets?
Once you have successfully passed an exam for an Update module, you can download a CPD log sheet for this module.

• Scroll down to find Update and click on ‘View exams’
• Choose the module number that corresponds with the Update module you have passed
• Click ‘View CPD log sheet’. You can also email the certificate to yourself so you can save it on your computer.

18. Can I save the CPD log sheets?
Yes, you can edit the CPD log sheets and save these on your computer. The C+D website does not store any amendments you make to the CPD log sheet. You must save these on your own computer.
19. The GPhC has called my CPD for review ... how do I access Update modules for the last five years?
You can see all the Update modules from January 2012 listed on the website. Older Update modules are not listed as some of the content may be out of date. If you are currently subscribed to Update or Update Plus, you can complete the 5 minute tests for Update modules from January 2013.
